About
Israeli soprano Yasmine Levi- Ellentuck is a promising and intriguing young dramatic soprano. Her recent performances include the role of Giorgetta in Puccini’s Il Tabarro with the Jerusalem Opera, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and conductor Omer Arieli.
This past year she has also debuted in Leipziger Gewandhaus, singing the Soprano Solo in Paul Ben-Haim’s Oratorio Joram, as a part of the Jewish Week with Halle Akademisches Orchester with conductors Ludwig Böhme and Daniel Spogis, and with Maestro Dan Ettinger and the Stuttgart Philharmonic, singing the Soprano Solo in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle.
She performed the title role in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and before that with the Jerusalem Opera.
Yasmine has performed at the Deutsche Oper Berlin singing the role of Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte. Furthermore she sang the role of Leonora in Il Trovatore and Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte with the Williamsburg Opera Copmany in VA, USA.
Prizes won, include the Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition, The Gerda-Lissner Foundation, The Giulio Gari Foundation and the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation. She has been a semi-finalst in the Francisco Viñas Inernational Singing contest in Barcelona, The Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna, The Montserrat Caballé International Singing Competition in Zaragoza and currently the Elizabeth Connell Prize 2016.
Yasmine completed her Master’s degree, studying with renowned voice teacher Patricia McCaffrey at the Brooklyn Music Academy in New York. During her Masters studies Yasmine sang the roles of La Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro, The Fox in Janaceks Cunning Little Vixen and Giorgetta from Puccini’s Il Tabarro.
As a returning participant of the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, she performed the roles of The Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos, First Lady in The Magic Flute, Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte and Elettra in Idomeneo.
Yasmine was a part of the Israeli Opera’s Opera Studio, where she sang among others, Mimi in La Boheme, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, Annina in La Traviata, Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica, First Lady in The Magic Flute and Gertrud in Hansel and Gretel.
She studied for her Bachelor’s degree at the Jerusalem Music academy, where she graduated with honors. During her studies in Jerusalem she won first prize in the Mozart competition, the Concerto competition, and a scholarship to study abroad for a semester, at the Hochschule fur Musik Opera School in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Among her love for opera repertoire, Yasmine is also an experienced concert performer, singing pieces such as Strauss’ Four Last Songs, Britten’s War Requiem, Berg’s Seven Early Songs and more.
